New Design starting to work

After lots of work and trying out of different ideas the design for the new site is moving forward and developing well. I think that the site should still be on target to go live by the end of May.

The overall design for the new site is moving ahead and should be ready earlier than originally planned. The new site will not only look much nicer, but will be able to provide visitors with lots of new things to do with the People of the Book.

The new People of the Book site is starting to take shape. It will look quite different from the existing site, and will have lots more information and things to do. Hopefully it will be up and running towards the end of May.

What now, What next?

What now for the People of the Book? The new site is beginning to be developed, but what I need to do is to work out what will be useful and what won't. The usual kind of stuff will be there:

- News
- Paintings
- How to get an exhibition up and running
- Press
- Info / About page
- Links: Store / Blog etc...

But what else should the new site have?

Calendar and Prints getting closer

I've been putting in a few extra hours on the People of the Book 2007 calendar, and it is coming together quite well. I hope to have it available in about a month or so, mainly because I recognise that there really is little point in having a 2007 calendar available this early in the year. Still, it is something that I'd like to get out of the way and sorted so I can move on to other things.

I am also working on making prints available, and I think I have found a company that will do it online for a reasonable cost. More soon on that front.

Calendar nearing completion

The People of the Book 2007 is well under way and should be ready in the next couple of weeks. More details will be posted as soon as they are available.

Discussion Group up and running

The discussion group is up and running. If you'd like to be added to the group you need to be sent an invite. If you'd like to be added just go to the site and send an email to us and we'll email you an invite.

There have been a few comments about the possibility of setting up a discussion group for the People of the Book web site. This is something that can be done fairly easily. So, it'll probably be up and running in the next few days.

People of the Book on the move

In the next month or so People of the Book will be moving on the web. We've just bought the domain, www.peopleofthebook.co.uk. There's nothing at that address as yet so don't bother visiting yet, but in the next month or two it will have a brand new People of the Book site.

People of the Book Calendar

I noticed that the People of the Book calendar link wasn't working on the web site. I think I've fixed it now.

Small steps

The next update of the main site is about to be released. More updates, more information, and hopefully, more usable. As ever, please get in touch if there's something on the site that you'd like to see, or for that matter, something that you wouldn't like to see.

2007 Calendar now?

Well, why not. We're working on a 2007 People of the Book calendar using a different picture each day. I think it will look excellent when it is finished.

More updates

Just in the process of updating the site again. Mostly it is just stuff like making it easier to navigate around it, and clearer to find what you want. Also adding links to this blog and making sure that all the right information is there.

Moving plan

Eventually People of the Book is going to move to a dedicated URL in the future. Probably in a month or so People of the book will move and at that point get a complete make over as well. The plan is to revamp the site and add lots of new features and a more interactive dimension to the site as well.

New stuff at the store, and other news

We've added some new products to the people of the book store.

Also, we're working towards getting a new domain (web address) for People of the Book. When we move to the new address we'll be totally revamping the site along with new features and page. The site will have a whole new look and will load quicker.

More work to do

Feed back on the People of the Book site so far has been very positive although there have been one or two problems with emails not getting through. However, that being said it seems as though everything is working now and we're moving forward. The main focus for the next few weeks will be in marketing the site and getting it noticed.

New site launched
