About the calendar

I thought I'd add a few comments about the new 2007 calendar. When I ordered mine it took just over two weeks to arrive. The site accepts card payment and is very secure indeed. The ordering process is simple and easy to follow. I hope you find it ok.

Well, I couldn't let it be. I thought I just had to post some pictures up to give you a better idea of what it looks like.

People of the book calendar arrives!!!!

This is just a short post to say that the calendar arrived this morning.

What can I say, it is FANTASTIC !!!

It exceeded my wildest expectations. This is why:

- The prints of the paintings are excellent
- The quality of the paper is superb
- The overall presentation is wonderful
- Even the packaging was really good, very secure

The calendar is much bigger than I expected, it works really well indeed.

I'm going to take some pictures soon and I'll post again so you can see them, I'm sure you'll be impressed.

The People of the Book goes out into the Blogosphere

The People of the Book blog is now on the official blogosphere, and you can now search our blog too!

I've ordered one of the calendars to see what it actually looks like. I thought it had come in the post today but it was something else. I can't wait to find out what it finally looks like when it is done. I do hope it is ok.

A new press page

I've been working on a new press page for interested publications. Hopefully it will help to promote the site and the paintings.

New work on the site

The site is going through a bit of a refresh. Lots of new features and pages are being added, and I'm doing a good deal of tidying up of the exiting pages. Making things easier to see, making more links available on pages, that kind of thing.

UK Merchandise store coming soon

We're currently in the process of setting up a UK store for merchandise like T-shirts and the like. This should be completed in the next few weeks, so hopefully our UK visitors will be able to feel better catered for.

Search engines

We're listed on Yahoo and MSN together with all the numerous Christian search engines as well.

People of the Book : Book list?

The book list is taking shape. It contains a list of some of the books that were influential during the time that the paintings came about.

I didn't know...

... just how many Christian search engine sites there were. How do they all stay afloat? I've been spending this evening submitting our URL to them one after another, it takes ages.

Submitted all over the place

Now we're all submitted to Yahoo, and MSN, and Google.

This of couse doesn't mean anything as there are billions of pages and sites on the internet, but it is one very small step in the right direction.

We are listed on Google

But very low down in the rankings...

... never mind!

Feedback

The site is getting lots of good feedback at the moment from all sorts of places. In particular on the Ship of Fools forum.

Slideshow

A number of people have mentioned that a slideshow would be good to have on the site. One of the features of the old site was that you could watch each painting in turn as a sort of slideshow.

Well, I've taken this on board and I've started to make a new slideshow. This time it will sit on a page and go through all the paintings one after another then start again from the beginning.

The only drawback is that the slideshow will be quite big, and will probably need a broadband connection to use it.

I shall be testing it out over the next few days to see how it works.
