Revamp by November

I think I'll have to revamp the whole site in October or it won't be ready for ages and ages. It needs a great deal of work doing and it isn't going to get done if I leave it longer.

At this rate

I don't think there will be a site update before the end of October, which is a shame indeed.

Site update: What's coming up

When the next version of the site is up each painting will have a page devoted to it giving comment and background information amongst other things.

When all of that is done I plan to run a series of posts here about each painting as well.

Hopeful that the site will be updated again in 2006

That is the plan, but so far there is very little to update it with. I'd like to have lots of new stuff done in the next month or by the end of October at the lastest, we'll have to wait and see.

And with the texts come ...

Poetry. That's the plan, to include a poem with each painting and accompanying text. At least, with a lot of them. We'll have to see how it works out.

Texts update

The next version of the People of the Book site is going to have text about each painting. Each of the paintings will have their own page with a good deal of information about the painting. The text is being written by a range of writers chosen by the artist.

Of course, there's quite a lot to write. There are 37 paintings, so we need 37 texts written. It is taking time, but I hope it will be worth it in the end.

Next upgrade to the People of the Book site

You may wonder what is going on with the People of Book site?

Well, behind the scenes it is being updated, and should get a make over in a few weeks.

The reason it takes a long time is that there is quite a lot of new material going up too. Of course, all of this needs to be written, and that is what takes the real time.

So, don't worry, there will be more stuff coming about the paintings, how they were made and the inspiration behind them. You just need to be patient.

About the calendar

I thought I'd add a few comments about the new 2007 calendar. When I ordered mine it took just over two weeks to arrive. The site accepts card payment and is very secure indeed. The ordering process is simple and easy to follow. I hope you find it ok.

Well, I couldn't let it be. I thought I just had to post some pictures up to give you a better idea of what it looks like.

People of the book calendar arrives!!!!

This is just a short post to say that the calendar arrived this morning.

What can I say, it is FANTASTIC !!!

It exceeded my wildest expectations. This is why:

- The prints of the paintings are excellent
- The quality of the paper is superb
- The overall presentation is wonderful
- Even the packaging was really good, very secure

The calendar is much bigger than I expected, it works really well indeed.

I'm going to take some pictures soon and I'll post again so you can see them, I'm sure you'll be impressed.

I've ordered one of the calendars to see what it actually looks like. I thought it had come in the post today but it was something else. I can't wait to find out what it finally looks like when it is done. I do hope it is ok.
